- During 2009 and 2010 Naf-Tech Energy (in partnership with MTN) embarked on extensive benchmark scientific testing, using the Naf-Tech product under controlled conditions to determine the benefits of the product.
- The major role players were M.T.N., DIESEL ELECTRIC SERVICES (specialising in the supply and maintenance of diesel engines and services to a broad range of industries across Africa), AER-O-CURE (specialising in the supply of specific equipment to the car industry, utilizing generators and diesel burners), the C.S.I.R. and others.
- The results of the DIESEL ELECTRIC SERVICES formal tests proved an average fuel saving of 21,43%.
- Further informal tests at DIESEL ELECTRIC SERVICES also proved:
- Cooler engine temperatures at 100% load;
- Cooler exhaust temperatures at 100% load.
- The results of the AER-O-CURE formal tests proved an average fuel saving of 22,63% using an alternative methodology than that of the DIESEL ELECTRIC SERVICES tests.
- Further testing at AER-O-CURE (which also included testing the effect of Naf-Tech on diesel burner application) also proved:
- Substantially reduced soot and odour in emissions;
- Reduced servicing, cleaning and replacement of injector nozzles;
- Reduced pollution and visible smoke emissions into the atmosphere;
- Cooler running engines;
- Smoother running engines.
